Our terms
Puppy health guarantee
Last updated: July 22, 2026
We stand behind the health of our puppies with a limited guarantee. The terms below are meant to be fair to the buyer while keeping the seller’s risk clear and bounded. Final terms for your puppy are confirmed in the written purchase agreement at placement.
What every puppy goes home with
- AKC limited or full registration, as agreed at placement
- Age-appropriate first vaccinations and deworming, with records provided
- A puppy examined to be in good general health at the time of sale
- Guidance on early care for brachycephalic (flat-faced) breeds
Buyer’s first step: vet exam
Have the puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours of pickup or delivery. Keep the written exam notes. If this exam is skipped, the health guarantee for congenital or hereditary conditions does not apply.
What the guarantee covers
For 3 months from the date of sale, if a licensed veterinarian diagnoses a congenital or hereditary condition that is life-threatening or that significantly and permanently limits the puppy’s quality of life as a companion, the sole remedies under this guarantee are a replacement puppy of comparable value (when available) or a refund of the purchase price paid — at our option. No other compensation is owed.
Examples of conditions that may qualify when they are congenital/hereditary and meet that standard include severe cardiac defects, severe hip or elbow dysplasia, and high-grade luxating patella — always subject to veterinary documentation.
French Bulldogs are a brachycephalic breed. Airway noise, stenotic nares, elongated soft palate, and related breed-typical features are not covered unless they meet the life-threatening or permanently limiting standard above and we approve the claim in writing.
How a claim works
- Buyer provides a written diagnosis from a licensed veterinarian describing the congenital or hereditary condition and its impact on health.
- Buyer contacts us promptly within the 3-month window so we can review the records.
- We decide whether the claim qualifies under these terms. Approval is required before any remedy applies.
- If approved, we choose either a replacement puppy of comparable value (when available) or a refund of the purchase price paid — not both, and not an amount that exceeds the original purchase price.
- Return of the puppy (with original papers and medical records) is required for a refund. Buyer pays return transportation.
- This guarantee does not pay veterinary bills, surgery, boarding, travel, emotional damages, or other expenses.
What is not covered
- Illness, injury, neglect, improper housing, heat stress, or accident after the puppy leaves our care
- Colds, kennel cough, viruses, allergies, or internal/external parasites after placement
- Cosmetic or minor issues that do not materially harm health (including many “looks” traits)
- Conditions caused or worsened by breeding the dog, if sold as a pet/companion
- Failure to keep routine vaccines, preventatives, and veterinary care current
- Any claim without timely veterinary documentation, or after the 3-month window
Buyer care requirements
The buyer is responsible for a suitable home, climate-aware care (Frenchies overheat easily), secure containment, sensible exercise, and ongoing veterinary care including vaccines and preventatives. We strongly recommend microchip identification. If the puppy’s condition is caused or worsened by neglect or improper care, this guarantee does not apply.
Deposits and placement
A deposit to hold a specific puppy is typically non-refundable. While a deposit is in place and pickup is completed on the agreed date, that puppy is reserved for you. Final purchase price, payment method, and pickup/delivery details are confirmed in writing before placement.
